Ethiopian School Project

Ethiopia   Ethiopia

In 2007 God planted a seed here at Bonhomme when Harold Kurtz, then Director of Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship, spoke at Bonhomme and introduced us to an exciting work of God in Ethiopia.  In 2010 Tom and Don began researching this work and earlier this year traveled to Ethiopia to see first-hand the ground-breaking frontier work of locally-run Light of Hope Ministries.

Light of Hope Ministries is building schools so that whole villages of children can have access to an education for the first time ever, and in the process the gospel is being spread like wild-fire in an unchurched, primarily Muslim region of Ethiopia.

What began as a seed is now beginning to blossom into a church-wide partnership: Bonhomme’s Ethiopian School Project.  Not only has our congregation generously responded with financial gifts -- funding the building of a brand new school in Zirway Dugda, but members and leaders of the church continue to go over as ESL tutors and Bible Teachers.

We are also supporting Light of Hope's Bible translating work as they are bringing the Word of God to the Oromo language for the first time ever.

We can all help!
